Most patients need a few weeks of adjustment to get comfortable with their new dentures. During this time, you may experience minor soreness or increased saliva production, which is completely normal. We will schedule follow-up appointments to make any necessary adjustments.

Start with soft foods cut into small pieces and gradually work your way up to regular foods as you become more comfortable. With practice, most patients can enjoy a wide variety of foods. Some harder or stickier foods may require extra care.

Clean your dentures daily with a soft brush and denture cleaner. Remove them at night to let your gums rest and soak them in water or a denture solution. Handle them carefully over a folded towel or basin of water to prevent breakage if dropped.

With proper care, dentures typically last 5-10 years. However, your mouth changes over time, so regular dental checkups are important to ensure proper fit. Relining or rebasing may be needed periodically to maintain a comfortable fit.
